LIVING STONES ACADEMY
Homeschool Hybrid Co-Operative
1 Peter 2:4-9 New International Version

4 As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him— 5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house[a] to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6 For in Scripture it says:
“See, I lay a stone in Zion,
a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who trusts in him
will never be put to shame.”[b]
7 Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe,
“The stone the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone,”[c]
8 and,
“A stone that causes people to stumble
and a rock that makes them fall.”[d]
They stumble because they disobey the message—which is also what they were destined for.
9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
Our Foundation

When we started back homeschooling in 2016, we prayed about a name for our homeschool and were led to 1 Peter 2:4-6, 9. It's been foundational for how we prepare our children for adulthood.
There are many things that we want to instill in our children before they leave home, however, above all else we want them to become disciples of Jesus Christ, knowing that God has chosen them specifically to accomplish great things!
This is our goal not only for our own children, but ALL the children who are a part of the LSA Family! As living stones in training, our prayer is that the home setting will serve as a launching pad for Christ-like living and The Holy Bible will serve as their primary manual for living a great life--even when our children no longer reside in their childhood homes. LSA assists families in such a way that every member is challenged daily to live out the Bible in what they say, do and think on a daily basis.

FURTHER WORDS

By the time these children are adults, they would have been taught as babes to know that living for Christ will call them to live differently than most people, but in the end, they won't regret it. As they embrace the truths from the Bible, and make them their own as adults, I know they will have a positive impact on the future spouses and careers they will choose, and the communities in which they will live and work. As they learn how to practically use the Bible's words of wisdom and knowledge more skillfully, they will pass down a heritage of Faith to their children, their children's children and down to the third and fourth generation.
